| July, 2007 | NeXus Leaps to 19th in the World! Denver, CO - NeXus jumped into the Top 20 in the 2007 Barbershop Harmony Society International contest in Denver, CO, the first week of July. The 3rd trip to the international competition, NeXus moved up from 27th place last year to the elite Top 20.. The group surprised and delighted the audience of 10,000 at the Pepsi Center with its competition sets. After such an exciting move for the quartet, NeXus is very much looking forward to next year. |

The self-titled CD represents a selection of audience favorities, including barbershop, contemporary a cappella, jazz, novelty and more. The 13 songs showcase the group's diverse musical styles and their ability to offer a unique collection of entertaining music. The recording has already been accepted for consideration in the 2006 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARA), the annual awards presented by the Contemporary A Cappella Society of America. | July, 2006 | NeXus Competes at International & Finishes 27th! Indianapolis, IN - NeXus competed at the 2006 Barbershop Harmony Society International contest in Indianapolis, IN, the first week of July. NeXus was pleased to post scores virtually identical to those of 2005 despite having a personnel change in the few months prior to contest. NeXus is very much looking forward to next year. |
| April, 2006 | NeXus Qualifies for International Competion! Ogden, UT - NeXus competed at the International Prelims contest in Ogden, UT, April 28-29, 2006, and has qualified to compete at the Barbershop Harmony Society's International Quartet Championship to be held in Indianapolis, IN, the first week of July. NeXus was one of three qualifying quartets from the 10-state Rocky Mountain District (good friends Storm Front and Ignition! also qualified), paving the way to the International competition for the top 50 quartets in the world. NeXus, of course, is thrilled to be heading back to the International contest! |
| Jan, 2006 | Announcement: George Davidson Joins NeXus! Denver, CO - NeXus is very excited and pleased to announce that George Davidson will be joining NeXus, filling the tenor spot vacated by Nate (see announcement below). As Mike's dad, George continues NeXus' "family tradition," but also brings a wealth of singing, performance, and barbershop experience to the group. Many of you will recall that George previously has won gold as a baritone with the champion quartet, Classic Collection, in the International Barbershop Society (back when Mike was much easier to fit in a stroller). With literally thousands of performances under his belt and a passion for singing, George is excited to get going -- and so is the rest of the group. We're all looking forward to the next "generation" of NeXus.  |
| Dec, 2005 | Announcement: Nate Departs NeXus Denver, CO - It is with mixture of sadness and excitement for Nate, that NeXus announces that Nate will be leaving the group the end of the year. After juggling a busy quartet and high school life for a couple of years, Nate has made the difficult decision to focus more on his last year and a half of high school. With school plays, musicals, choirs, sports, dances and all the other school activities, being in a busy performing quartet was simply growing more and more difficult. It was a tough decision for Nate after all the great experiences with NeXus, but the right one. We all applaud his desire to not miss out on high school and thanks to the family connection, know we'll continue to have plenty of chances to hastle him in the future! Thanks for everything, Nate!!  |
| July, 2005 | NeXus Places 25th at International Competion! Salt Lake City, UT - NeXus competed this week at its first international quartet competition, placing an amazing 25th overall. The competition features the top 50 quartets invited from around the world. As a new competitor to the contest, and entering ranked 45th overall, NeXus surprised and delighted the judges and audience with their performance, jumping an astounding 20 places to 25th in the world. |
| May, 2005 | NeXus Qualifies for International Competion! Cheyenne, WY - NeXus has received a wild card bid to compete at the Barbershop Harmony Society's International Quartet Championship in Salt Lake City in July. Their qualifying score fell 0.4% short of automatically qualifying last month at the district prelims contest, so the group was forced to wait until the very end to see if their scores would hold up and qualify them for a wild card slot in this international contest. The contest is limited to the top 50 quartets in the world, which then receive special invitations to the international event. NeXus, of course, excitedly accepted their first invitation!. |
| Oct, 2004 | NeXus wins Rocky Mountain District Championship! Cheyenne, WY - NeXus captured the Barbershop Harmony Society's championship for the Rocky Mountain District this week. 25 competitors from throuhout the 9-state region gathered at the Performing Arts center in Cheyenne, WY, to compete for the title. The second time competing at the contest for NeXus, they were previously the 2003 Novice Champions in the same competition.. |
